Hi, my name is Janette Dunne and I currently work as a midwife in a consultant led labour suite.
After leaving school I commenced my Nurse training and qualified as a Registered General Nurse (RGN).
I worked as a staff nurse in a paediatric ward until I proceeded to my midwifery training in 1982 and successfully qualified as a Registered Midwife (RM).
In the many years I have spent as a practising midwife, I have always been passionate about childbirth and feel humbled and very privileged to be part of the very personal, intimate and life-changing experience that accompanies the birth of a baby.
I decided to expand my knowledge and embarked on a university course where I obtained my BSc Degree in Advanced Studies in Midwifery.
Through my extensive experience I have placed my confidence in the belief that relaxation and deep breathing techniques best enhance a woman’s birthing experience. But I always felt there was a ‘missing something’. Admittedly it wasn’t until three separate labouring women had asked me where I had done my HypnoBirthing training that I decided to delve further into the world of HypnoBirthing and trained as a HypnoBirthing practitioner. Finally the long sought after ‘missing something’ unveiled itself and I am always in awe and admiration when I witness a woman who births her baby the HypnoBirthing way (Mongan Method).
